The new merchandise for Solo: A Star Wars Story just keeps coming! Official books (that yes, are all canon) have been released in line with our last few movies (Episodes VII, VIII, and Rogue One) and Solo is no different. Yesterday a whole slew of new books were announced to coincide with this new release.
EW posted a list of all of them yesterday, and there’s at least one (probably more) that I’m super excited about. But let’s save the best for last, shall we?
Most Wanted by Rae Carson
We’ll start with a new YA adult book about Han’s relationship with Qi’ra, who is played by Emilia Clarke in the new movie. Apparently they grew up together, so this one is about a much younger Han Solo.
Lando: Double or Nothing by Rodney Barnes
This one’s a Marvel Comics miniseries, set to be five issues. It focuses on Lando and tells the story of him and his droid featured in Solo, L3-37. The first issue will be released after the movie is out.
The Art of Solo by Phil Szostak
Here is one that should be no surprise. Made by the same guy who created The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Art of Solo is sure to feature beautiful concept art from the film.
Solo: The Official Guide by Pablo Hidalgo
This one combines the visual dictionary concept we have been used to for previous Star Wars movies with also some cross-sections (like from the Millennium Falcon!). I’ve got the visual dictionaries for both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, and they are great for picking up small details you might have initially missed in the films. Definitely looking forward to this one!
Last Shot by Daniel José Older
I am by far the most excited about this one! Not only does it look super cool with a reversible cover with one side featuring Han Solo and the other side featuring Lando Calrissian, but it tells stories of Han during more than one time in his life. We get some more backstory on Lando before the Solo movie as well as more info on Han after Return of the Jedi, about his life with Leia and Ben. Now that’s a story I’m looking forward to hearing. This one will also be available in a convention exclusive cover featuring Chewie and L3-37.
Even More!
